European Commission launches consultation to assess impact of Audiovisual Media Services Directive

Brussels, 10/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 10 February, the European Commission launched a public consultation to assess the impact of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) and explore options for its review, according to a press release. The AVMSD harmonises national legislation across the EU for all audiovisual media, from traditional television broadcasts to on-demand services and video-sharing platforms.
