16/01/26 (Agence Europe) – Succeeding Cosita Delvaux from Luxembourg, Maltese notary Roland Wadge officially took office as President of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) for 2026, following a handover ceremony, on Friday 16 January in Naxxar (Malta). Roland Wadge has been in the profession for almost 30 years, and has held several mandates within the Maltese Notarial Council, which he presided over from 2007 to 2011, and again from 2023. For 2026, he said in a press release that he wanted to focus his mandate on digitalisation, the fight against money laundering, company law and access to justice. The CNUE’s programme includes providing greater support for businesses, monitoring the future 28th regime and rolling out the European ‘Business Wallet’. (NP)
