In the third quarter of 2025, seasonally-adjusted GDP rose by 0.2% in the euro area and by 0.3% in the European Union, compared with the previous quarter, according to a flash estimate published by the EU’s statistical office (Eurostat) on Friday 14 November, confirming provisional data (see EUROPE 13742/5).
Of the twenty-one Member States for which data is available, the strongest growth was seen in Sweden (1.1%), Cyprus (0.9%) and Poland, Portugal and Slovenia (0.8%). It was negative in Lithuania and Romania (-0.2%) and in Finland (-0.1%), and zero in Hungary.
Wealth production was zero in Germany and Italy. It was sustained in France (0.5%) and Spain (0.6%).
Employment. Again according to Eurostat, the number of people in employment rose by 0.1% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU in the third quarter of 2025, compared with the previous quarter. (Original version in French by Mathieu Bion)
