European Commission consults with civil society to strengthen disability rights strategy 2021-2030

14/11/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 14 November, the European Commission launched a public consultation - open until 6 February - to gather the views of civil society on how to strengthen the disability rights strategy 2021-2030 (https://aeur.eu/f/jgf ). The aim is to adapt to societal changes, particularly those linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, but also to rapid change. A new action plan will be proposed in 2026. The general objectives of the strategy will be maintained, while the new actions will be based on a mid-term progress report and will take account of the concluding observations made by the United Nations in April 2025 on the EU’s implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
