10/11/25 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 7 November, the European Commission announced that it had signed grant agreements to fund EU transport infrastructure in Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and Moldova. This funding, announced in July (see EUROPE 13673/19), comes from the ‘Connecting Europe Facility’ (CEF), which supports cross-border projects and work on the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes. In Poland, four projects, focusing on developing high-speed cross-border links, ensuring interoperability and improving port capacity, are receiving almost €452 million. In Slovakia, four projects are receiving €135 million in aid to support cross-border rail connectivity between eastern Slovakia, Ukraine and the Czech Republic and to improve rail interoperability. In Romania, Ukraine and Moldova, three rail projects are involved. (AD)
