European Commission putting finishing touches to ‘Democracy Shield’ intended to protect democratic space in EU and candidate countries

On Wednesday 12 November, the European Commission is due to present a package of measures aimed at protecting democracy against attacks from both inside and outside the European Union, including the creation of a ‘European Centre for Democratic Resilience’.
