10/11/2025 (Agence Europe) – The EU Council’s conclusions on the Commission’s future plan on affordable housing have been approved following the silent adoption procedure, a source told Agence Europe on Monday 10 November. The Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States to the EU will now consider the text on 19 November, with a view to adoption by the Employment and Social Affairs Council on 1 December. The latest version includes more references to national, local or regional powers, to the Commission’s simplification work (to speed up building and renovation permits) and to the negative effects of over-tourism. It sets out an approach to the revision of State aid rules for services of general economic interest, which has been accepted by France, among others (see EUROPE 13747/29).
