27/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 27 October, the Council of the EU adopted two revised texts resulting from agreements with the European Parliament. The first concerns the revised directive on river information services, which will make it possible to digitalise river information such as notices to skippers or vessel tracking by creating a single platform to manage communication on traffic, infrastructure and transport on inland waterways. The second concerns the extension of the exemption of zero-emission heavy duty vehicles from road tolls until 30 June 2031. This targeted amendment to the directive applies to both lorries and buses, and also covers user charges. The agreements have already been adopted by the European Parliament (see EUROPE 13725/12, 13725/11).
