27/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 27 October, the European Agricultural Products Trade Association (Coceral) asked the European Commission to postpone by one year the application of Regulation 2023/1115, which governs the placing on the EU market and the export from the Union of certain products linked to deforestation. Despite an initial postponement, the organisation believes that a number of difficulties remain, threatening the stability of soya supply chains. Coceral is calling for a further postponement of one year for all operators, whatever their size, in order to resolve the technical problems and ensure a smooth transition for European industries and consumers. According to the association, the Commission’s successive announcements have created confusion, making it more difficult to meet the 31 December 2025 deadline (see EUROPE 13738/3). The risk of a shortage of raw materials could cause serious logistical disruption, according to Coceral. (LC)
