European businesses want more stability in transatlantic relations, according to BusinessEurope survey

27/10/2025 (Agence Europe)Most of the companies surveyed by the representative of European employers, BusinessEurope, in September, said that the United States was their number one export market, or one of the first. The uncertainty surrounding customs tariffs is of great concern to them. Out of a total of 342 respondents to the survey published by BusinessEurope on Monday 27 October, 35% said their costs had risen as a result of US tariffs, 31% had not fully determined which products were targeted by which tariffs, and 47% said they were uncertain about the future of transatlantic relations. Participants in the survey agreed on three recommendations: they called for tariff stability, simplification of customs procedures and increased regulatory cooperation between the EU and the US.
