EU welcomes calm climate in which presidential election took place

25/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 25 September, the European Union congratulated Peter Mutharika on his election as President of Malawi and saluted “the Malawian people and their political forces for their strong attachment to democracy” in the run-up to the elections, on polling day on 16 September and in the days that followed.
