18/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 11 September, the European Commission launched a call for evidence on the 'military mobility' package. Announced in March this year (see EUROPE 13603/7) in the ‘White Paper for European Defence – Readiness 2030’, the package will include a joint communication on military mobility, together with legislative proposals to facilitate and support this mobility within the EU, in particular by improving the movement of troops, equipment and military resources within the Union and beyond. This will include targeted changes to existing European legislation to take better account of military mobility needs. This call for evidence, which will remain open until Thursday 9 October, is intended to complement a targeted consultation of stakeholders, which ended in July.
