18/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 18 September, the EU Council adopted the decision on the position to be taken within the EU-Moldova Association Committee on the liberalisation of trade between the two blocs. In July, the Commission proposed an extension of market access for Moldovan agricultural products not yet fully liberalised by the agreement (see EUROPE 13867/13). In the opposite direction, market access has also been extended to European poultry, pork and dairy products. The adoption of this measure by the EU now offers a lasting solution for trade, as the new tariff quotas are directly integrated into the trade agreement between the EU and Moldova. The decision must now be adopted by the EU-Moldova Association Committee. (LM)
