26/08/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 20 August, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Environment Agency (EEA) signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation on sustainable finance. This memorandum of understanding focuses on environmental factors and their integration into the EU’s sustainable finance framework, including the supervision of this framework. It describes how ESMA and the EEA will exchange expertise, information and data and support each other’s capacity-building activities. They will also work together to facilitate collaboration between national financial market regulators and national environmental protection authorities and agencies.
