European Commission proposes to sign and ratify United Nations Convention against Cybercrime

16/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 16 July, the European Commission proposed signing and ratifying the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, which covers both substantive criminal law and judicial cooperation. “For the first time, a global instrument will criminalise conduct related to child sexual abuse material, the grooming of children for sexual purposes, and the non-consensual dissemination of intimate images”, explains the Commission in a press release.
