On Tuesday 15 July, the European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA, ESMA - the ‘ESAs’) published a guide to the oversight activities provided for in the European regulation on digital operational resilience, known as ‘DORA’ (Digital Operational Resilience Act).
This document outlines the oversight of ‘critical third-party providers’ of information and communication technologies, based on the work of the Joint Examination Teams (JETs).
The guide sets out the governance structure, supervisory processes, fundamental principles and tools available to supervisors.
Although it is not legally binding, it is intended to help financial entities, third-party providers and all stakeholders anticipate the implementation of the supervisory framework introduced by ‘DORA’.
