16/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 16 July, the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) published a report by management consultancy Oliver Wyman, which sheds light on how the EU can strengthen its stock markets to support investment and long-term financing needs. Entitled ‘The Liquidity Matrix’, the report points out that the persistent fragmentation of secondary stock markets hampers price formation, dilutes liquidity and hampers the mobilisation of private savings in the EU. Its authors call for a reduction in this fragmentation, particularly between trading platforms, in order to strengthen the link between secondary and primary markets, an essential condition for attracting IPOs and supporting the financing of the European economy.
