04/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – Borys Budka MEP (EPP, Polish) has suggested that the European Parliament should approve the renewal of the agreement for scientific and technological cooperation between the European Community and the Government of the Republic of India, in his draft recommendation on Wednesday 2 July. In March, the European Commission proposed to the EU Council that this cooperation agreement be renewed for a further five years. The agreement expired on Saturday 17 May. The agreement, which came into force in October 2002, establishes a formal framework for cooperation to encourage and facilitate activities in scientific and technological fields of common interest between the EU and India. For its part, the Council has already approved the extension of the agreement in May. Read the draft recommendation: https://aeur.eu/f/hpk (AD)
