04/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 4 July, the European Commission announced the six projects selected for the innovative manufacture of battery cells for electric vehicles, which will receive a total of €852 million in subsidies from the Innovation Fund. The six projects, which are due to start production before 2030, will receive assistance in covering investment and operating costs. The aim is to achieve a combined annual production capacity of around 56 gigawatt hours (GWh) of battery cells for electric vehicles.
