Suspension of visa-free travel - Member States approve political agreement reached with European Parliament

25/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 June, the EU Member States confirmed the provisional agreement reached with the European Parliament on the reform of the mechanism for suspending the short-term visa-free regimes currently enjoyed by 61 third countries. The agreement was reached on 17 June (see EUROPE 13661/13). It extends the reasons why these regimes can be suspended (hybrid threats or serious human rights violations).
