Suspension of visa-free travel - Member States approve political agreement reached with European Parliament

25/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 June, the EU Member States confirmed the provisional agreement reached with the European Parliament on the reform of the mechanism for suspending the short-term visa-free regimes currently enjoyed by 61 third countries. The agreement was reached on 17 June (see EUROPE B13661A13). It extends the reasons why these regimes can be suspended (hybrid threats or serious human rights violations).
