20/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – The winners of the European Union Prize for Citizen Science 2025, awarded by the Horizon Europe project IMPETUS, were announced on Thursday 19 June. The Grand Prize, worth €60,000, was awarded to the HEROINES project for the inclusion of Roma women in the emancipation process in Serbia, through the development of a community mapping tool to gather rarely shared oral accounts. The Digital Communities prize, worth €20,000, was awarded to the Antiquake Risk Hunter Community project, which aims to promote disaster preparedness by collecting geolocated data using open-source tools. The Diversity and Collaboration prize, worth €20,000, was given to the Museum of Food Waste - MoFWaste, for making children the key players in a project to reduce and prevent food waste. (AD)
