Divisions in the EU Council mean that discussions on the European anti-corruption directive cannot continue, said European Parliament rapporteur Raquel García Hermida-van der Walle (Renew Europe, Dutch), on the evening of Thursday 19 June.
The two parties met on Monday evening, 16 June in an attempt to conclude their negotiations, but a group of countries refused Parliament’s demands on the provisions relating to abuse of office (see EUROPE B13661A14).
