13/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 13 June, the European Commission and the Swiss Federal Council both published the texts of the agreements negotiated at the end of December with the aim of consolidating and extending bilateral relations, notably through new agreements on health or electricity and modernising existing agreements, such as those on the free movement of people (see EUROPE 13645/22). The Commission has published a communication with 13 annexes listing the various agreements covered by the political negotiations. In particular, Switzerland has undertaken to adopt the EU legislation for these agreements through the concept of dynamic alignment. The texts will now be forwarded to the Council of the EU. The European Parliament will then be asked to give its assent in early 2026. The nature of this agreement had not been indicated on 13 June, but it should be an ‘EU only’ exclusive competence agreement. Link to texts: https://aeur.eu/f/hc1 (SP)
