13/06/25 (Agence Europe) – On Friday, 13 June, the European Commission disbursed another €1 billion tranche to Ukraine in accordance with the European Union’s contribution to the €45 billion in preferential loans that G7 countries will grant in 2025—loans backed by the profits generated by the Bank of Russia’s immobilised assets in the EU (see EUROPE 13513/7). This payment brings the amount of aid that the EU has provided since the beginning of the year to €7 billion—out of a total of €18.1 billion borne by the EU. These loans are enabling Kyiv to increase its military spending and withstand Russian military aggression. (MB)
