10/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Saturday 7 June, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, and the Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, announced the provisional application, from the beginning of June, of the political and economic cooperation aspects of the EU/Chile cooperation agreement, the revision of which was finalised in December 2022 (see EUROPE 13081/19), the first of its kind that the EU has negotiated with a Latin American country. This “major milestone” will boost cooperation in green energy, digital technology and security, while the EU and its Member States continue the process of ratifying the full agreement.
