06/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Investment Fund has signed its first agreement under the EU’s Ukraine export credit guarantee facility through the Danish export credit agency EIFO, announced the European Commission on Thursday 5 June. This guarantee makes up to €20 million available for export credit transactions to support up to 40 Danish SMEs and mid-caps exporting to Ukraine. According to the European Commission, the guarantee gives Ukraine access to essential goods, technologies and services – from machinery and clean energy to pharmaceuticals. This deal marks the start of a series of thirteen similar agreements being drawn up in the Member States between the EIB Group, the European Commission and national export credit agencies. The scheme will offer around €300 million in guarantees to European SMEs and mid-caps. (CG)
