06/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 6 June, the European Commission opened an anti-dumping investigation into imports of 1,4-Butanediol from China, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. The product is a chemical compound that is used as a solvent. The complaint was lodged by the French branch of British chemicals giant INEOS. According to the European Commission, the complainant has provided sufficient evidence that the volume and prices of imports from the three countries have had a negative impact on the quantities that have been sold, the level of prices charged and the market share held by the Union industry. An investigation has therefore been opened, which could lead to a definitive anti-dumping duty within a maximum of 14 months. Read the implementing regulation: https://aeur.eu/f/h7c (LM)
