On Thursday 15 May, the European Travel Agents’ and tour Operators’ Associations (ECTAA) called for urgent protection against airline insolvency. They highlighted the fact that Air Belgium’s bankruptcy left nearly €8 million outstanding in passenger refund claims, more than €5 million of which resulted from tickets sold by travel intermediaries such as travel agents and tour operators.
