European Travel Agents’ and tour Operators’ Associations calls for urgent protection against airline insolvency

On Thursday 15 May, the European Travel Agents’ and tour Operators’ Associations (ECTAA) called for urgent protection against airline insolvency. They highlighted the fact that Air Belgium’s bankruptcy left nearly €8 million outstanding in passenger refund claims, more than €5 million of which resulted from tickets sold by travel intermediaries such as travel agents and tour operators.
