António Costa says EU could welcome Tirana as member by 2030

On the afternoon of Thursday 15 May, the President of the European Council, António Costa, arrived in Albania on the last stop of his tour of the Western Balkans, ahead of the meeting of the European Political Community in Tirana on Friday 16 (see EUROPE B13641A7).

He took the opportunity to speak with the country’s newly re-elected Prime Minister, Edi Rama (see EUROPE B13639A29), about Albania’s progress towards EU membership (see EUROPE B13636A7).
