Battery storage installations in Europe continue to grow, however at a slower rate of 15% in 2024

12/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – In an analysis published on Wednesday 7 May (https://aeur.eu/f/grd), SolarPower Europe revealed that battery storage installations were continuing to grow, but that this growth had slowed to 15% in 2024, after three consecutive years of doubling newly added capacity. As a result, 21.9 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) were installed in Europe in 2024, marking the eleventh consecutive year of record installations and taking Europe’s total battery...
