On Tuesday 29 April, the European Association of Distribution System Operators (DSO Entity) and the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) launched the DSO/TSO Technopedia platform, an initiative stemming from the European Commission’s Action Plan for European Networks, presented in November 2023 (see EUROPE 13302/8).
The platform aims to showcase existing technologies that support the deployment of smart grids, “helping to improve grid efficiency and enhance security of supply across Europe”.
It provides detailed descriptions of the technologies available to network operators, real-life use cases and examples of deployment across Europe, “enabling network operators to see what others are doing, exchange knowledge and implement new technologies in their own networks if they so wish”.
Stakeholders can also contribute to the platform by submitting specific use cases, which will be evaluated on the basis of transparent criteria.
The first submission window is open until 30 June.
