02/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – Annual inflation in the euro area is estimated at 2.2% in March, compared with 2.3% in February, according to a flash estimate published by the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Tuesday 1 April. The highest rates were seen in Croatia, Estonia and Slovakia (4.3% each), while the lowest were in France (0.9%), Luxembourg (1.5%) and Ireland (1.9%). Prices rose by 2.1% in Italy, 2.2% in Spain and 2.3% in Germany. Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services are expected to have the highest annual rate in March (3.4%), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (2.9%), non-energy industrial goods (0.6%) and energy (-0.7%).
