17/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 17 March, the EU Council approved the payment of non-repayable grants and loans to Ukraine totalling €3.5 billion under the ‘Ukraine Facility’. It concluded that the country had met the necessary conditions set out in the Ukraine Plan to receive this payment, with the implementation of 13 measures relating in particular to energy, agriculture, simplifying border crossing procedures and strategic and critical raw materials. The aim of the Facility is to support macro-financial stability, recovery, reconstruction and modernisation in Ukraine. Since the Ukraine Facility entered into force in March 2024, two instalments of around €4.2 billion and €4.1 billion have already been made, in August and December 2024. (CG)
