17/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – Trade in goods and services between the EU and the US reached a record level of €1.8 trillion in 2024, according to a study supported by the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU, AmCham EU, and the US Chamber of Commerce, published on 17 March. The EU still has a trade surplus in goods ($236 billion or €216 billion), which has even increased compared to 2023. In services, on the other hand, the United States recorded a trade surplus of 75 billion dollars (around 69 billion euros). The authors of the report put the US deficit with the EU into perspective: “it accounted for only a quarter of the US trade deficit with Asia-Pacific and is smaller than the US trade deficit with its NAFTA partners Canada and Mexico”.
