11/03/25 (Agence Europe) – In a press release issued on Tuesday 11 March, a spokeswoman for the European External Action Service reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to “the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan and the sovereignty of the Sudanese people”. The spokeswoman said that plans to create a parallel “government” by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of General Mohammed Hamdan Daglo risked leading to “the partition of the country and jeopardise the democratic aspirations of the Sudanese people for an inclusive Sudanese-owned process that leads to the restoration of civilian rule”. The European Union has called on the parties to the conflict to put an end to the harassment of civil society representatives and to refrain from restricting civic space. (BD)
