Climate Action Network Europe calls on European Union to aim for climate neutrality by 2040

In the run-up to COP30, to be held in Belém, Brazil in November, the European Union has still not presented its new nationally determined contribution. 

With the deadline set for this month, in an analysis published on Monday 10 February, the NGO coalition CAN Europe once again calls on the EU (see EUROPE B13345A19) to go beyond the 90% emissions reduction target proposed a year ago by the European Commission (see EUROPE B13344A1), and aim for climate neutrality by 2040.
