10/02/25 (Agence Europe) – Gas storage levels in the EU officially fell below 50%, to 49.02% on Saturday 8 February, according to data from the Aggregated Gas Storage Inventory (https://aeur.eu/f/ffl ). In 2024, this threshold was not reached, since at the end of the winter season, at the end of March, levels were just over 58%. The winter of 2024/2025 has been marked by cold temperatures and low wind energy production, increasing the use of gas for electricity generation. In addition, wholesale prices on the Dutch gas market (TTF), used as a benchmark in Europe, reached more than €58/MWh on Monday 10 February, the highest level since February 2023. (PLD)
