14/01/25 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 January, the EU Council adopted a decision confirming that Switzerland’s participation in the permanent structured cooperation (PESCO) project ‘Military Mobility’ “meets the general conditions set out in Decision (CFSP) 2020/1639 of November 2020, and will bring substantial added value to the project”. This decision authorises the Netherlands, as coordinator, to formally invite Switzerland to join the project, in response to Bern’s request of September 2024. Once Switzerland has concluded an administrative agreement with the project, it will become an official member. Canada, Norway and the United States were invited to join the project in 2021, and the United Kingdom in 2022. See the decision: https://aeur.eu/f/f1d (CG)
