European Commission releases €148 million for Ukraine and Moldova

On Monday 13 January, in response to Russia’s continuing aggression against Ukraine, the European Commission released an additional €148 million to meet urgent humanitarian needs.

The majority of the funds, i.e. €140 million, will be allocated to projects in Ukraine to provide food, drinking water, shelter, healthcare and equipment to cope with the winter, with a particular focus on the eastern and southern regions of the country, which have been heavily affected by the fighting.
