13/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 January, the Council of the EU decided to extend by one year, until 20 January 2026, the existing restrictive measures against those who support, facilitate or enable the violent actions of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). A total of 12 individuals and three entities have been sanctioned under this framework of restrictive measures, for their involvement in the financing Hamas and the PIJ, or for enabling their violent actions (see EUROPE 13332/11). Individuals and entities listed under the sanctions regime are subject to an asset freeze. It is also forbidden to provide them with funds or economic resources, whether directly or indirectly. In addition, a travel ban to the EU applies to the natural persons on the list. (CG)
