10/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 10 January, the spokesman for the European External Action Service, Anouar El-Anouni, highlighted that “all Member States (were) parties to the Rome Statute and (had) to comply with the general obligation to cooperate of the International Criminal Court (ICC)”.The Polish government has guaranteed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - who is under arrest warrant from the ICC - will not be arrested if he attends the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Mr El-Anouni referred to the EU Council conclusions of 2023, which call on all States to ensure full cooperation with the Court, in particular through the swift execution of international arrest warrants. The spokesman said he did not know whether Israeli leaders would attend the commemorations. (CG)
