17/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – The leaders of the countries of the European Union will meet at least six times in 2025, according to a provisional agenda unveiled by the President of the European Council, António Costa. During formal sessions of the European Council, they will discuss: - the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) post-2027 (March); - security and defence, relations with Africa and Latin America, the EU’s internal reforms with a view to enlargement (June); - competitiveness and climate transition, housing (October); - the MFF, defence and enlargement (December). There will be regular updates on EU migration policy. In addition, Mr Costa will be meeting the leaders at two informal retreats: the first in Leuven, devoted to defence (see EUROPE 13534/20), and the second in Denmark on 1 October, on the eve of the meeting of the ‘European Political Community’.
