28/11/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 28 November, the European Commission opened two new infringement proceedings concerning the security of critical infrastructure and network security. It has asked 23 Member States (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden) to fully transpose the ‘NIS2’ Directive, which aims to guarantee a high level of cybersecurity in the EU and was supposed to be transposed by 17 October. It has sent another letter of formal notice to 24 countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden) for failing to notify national measures transposing the directive on the resilience of critical entities.
