Allies and partners strongly condemn presence of North Korean soldiers in Russia

08/11/2024 (Agence Europe)On Friday 8 November, the Allies, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Ukraine strongly condemned the decisions by the leaders of Russia and North Korea (DPRK) to “dangerously expand Russia’s unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine”. “The thousands of combat troops deployed by the DPRK constitutes a dangerous expansion of its ongoing support for [the] war”, they said in a joint statement, adding that the deepening of military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK has profound repercussions for Euro-Atlantic security, with implications for the Indo-Pacific region as well. NATO and its partners pointed out that the intensification of military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK was a violation of several UN Security Council resolutions.
