31/10/24 (Agence Europe) – In its new quarterly report, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) highlighted on Thursday 31 October that 371 cases of infringement of the REMIT regulation, which aims to ensure transparency and integrity in the energy markets (see EUROPE 13393/34), were under investigation at the end of the third quarter of 2024 (see EUROPE 13465/12). During the quarter, 31 cases were opened, compared with 21 in the previous quarter. A total of 24 cases were closed. They either led to sanctions or were closed without sanctions because the suspicions were unfounded. The report covers, among other things, the main findings of two joint roundtable meetings with Registered Reporting Mechanisms (RRMs), Inside Information Platforms (IIPs) and Associations of Energy Market Participants (AEMPs) on delegated acts for RRMs and IIPs.
