31/10/24 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 31 October, the European Commission announced the finalists for the Access City Award 2025: Borås (Sweden), Cartagena (Spain), Nuremberg (Germany) and Vienna (Austria). These cities were rewarded for their exemplary commitment to making urban spaces accessible to people with disabilities, particularly in terms of buildings, public transport, parks and information technology. Selected from 57 entries, they are competing for this prize, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The winners will be announced on 29 November at the European Day of Persons with Disabilities conference organised by the European Commission and the European Disability Forum. The ceremony will be broadcast live online. (NP)
