31/10/2024 (Agence Europe) – Following a visit by a European Parliament delegation to the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice and Eurojust in The Hague, the chairman of the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI), Mounir Satouri, called on Europeans on Thursday 31 October to support these organisations. “The EU and its Member States should contribute in every possible way to strengthening these institutions – be it through political, legal, financial or logistical means – and should advocate across the globe a consistent approach to international justice and the fight against impunity”, he stressed in a press release. He expressed his deep concern at the serious threats they currently face, and his determination to place the principles of international law and international humanitarian law at the centre of the DROI Sub-Committee’s work in this legislature.
