08/10/24 (Agence Europe) – The winners of the European Heritage Awards/Europa Nostra 2024 Competition were celebrated at a ceremony at the European Heritage Summit in Bucharest (Romania), attended by over 800 guests and an online audience, on Monday 7 October. Among the 26 winners, five Grand Prizes were awarded, rewarding quality and know-how in heritage preservation practices and encouraging cross-border exchanges in this field. The five Grand Prizes include the historic Ignacy mine in Poland and the Saxon church of Alma Vii in Romania, which also won the Public Choice Award, as well as the traditional farm buildings project in Ireland, the restoration of the Tsiskarauli tower in Georgia, and the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities in Croatia.
