23/09/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 September, at the United Nations Summit of the Future in New York, the EU ratified the new “Global Digital Compact”, drawn up with the organisation’s members. This compact, which is non-binding and part of the Pact for the Future, addresses pressing international issues such as sustainable development, international peace, future generations, technology and innovation, and digital cooperation. The Digital Compact’s aim is to establish “an inclusive global framework”, which is essential for the multi-stakeholder action required to overcome digital, data and innovation divides. It defines principles, objectives and actions for “an open, fair and secure digital future”. See the text of the compact: https://aeur.eu/f/djh (Original version in French by Isalia Stieffatre)
