23/09/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 September, the European Parliament announced that it had received all the documents - curriculum vitae, declarations of financial interests and mission statements - of the twenty-six European Commissioners-designate making up the provisional ‘von der Leyen II’ Commission (see EUROPE 13484/1), as well as the referral from the Council of the European Union. The procedure for the confirmation hearings of these candidates in the European Parliament has therefore been officially launched. The European Parliament Committee on Legal Affairs will analyse the declarations of financial interests of the Commissioners-designate, which will only be published a posteriori. The Conference of Committee Chairs (CCC) was asked to organise the confirmation hearings, with a final decision on the timetable and the committees responsible to be taken by the Conference of Presidents (CoP) of the political groups.
